Hey there friends! Happy Friday and happy Family History Month. I hope your week has been a pleasant one and you have been able to spend time doing something you enjoy. In a world where it seems like every day and month on the calendar we are celebrating something 😂 - it seems the month of October is when we celebrate Family History Month. I’m happy about this because it means that there is more of a focus on the resources we need to gather the history and stories of our own families. Today I’ve found a couple of resources that are new to me and that I think you’ll find both delightful and helpful. Read on below to see those. And since I have a head of gray hair, you know that I have to mention the weather in just about any correspondence or conversation. And today’s weather in my neck of the woods is wonderfully cool and windy. It took 2 days of rain to push away the last remnants of a tough, hot summer. And, now, aahhhh. Finally Fall. 🍂 The weekend is looking so lovely. I hope it will be the same for you. BEHIND THE SCENES THIS WEEK Here are the resources I mentioned for digging deeper into your own family history. This first one is a wonderful website with all sorts of articles and source links for you to check out. The National Genealogical Society The second resource is Family Tree magazine. I actually have been reading the UK version of Family Tree in the library app Libby. Since I have ancestors from all over the United Kingdom, I really enjoy having access to this. If you are a Libby user but haven’t accessed their available magazines, you are in for a treat! Just search for the magazine by title and then “borrow” it. There's no waiting for an available copy like there is with a Kindle book or audiobook. Read it on an iPad or tablet and it’s almost as good as holding the printed magazine in your lap. I still love a good paper magazine, but where else are you going to get access to all these publications and for no cost? Yesterday I found out that there is also a U.S. version of Family Tree magazine. You can also get that via the Libby app. Family Tree (U.S.) also has a wonderful website where you can find many of their articles. Find it here. Back to reading magazines on the Libby app. If you’re not already using the app, all you need is a library card account to a library that offers access. I use it regularly for audiobooks, but you can also use it for books for your Kindle as well as magazines. To find out more about Libby and to find out if your library offers it, go here. Take a photo. Write a little bit. Create a legacy story for your family. INTENTIONAL HOME - Decluttering & Curating Memories

I'd love to have you follow my social feeds. I promise to not be boring but will most likely be cheesy now and again. 😉
Did you know that your life experiences, from simple to monumental, are worth gathering, curating and sharing with those that love you? Well, they are! Each week I share bits and bobs from my studio on how I'm working to make it easier for you to find the time, tools and motivation to preserve and share your family stories and photographs.
Hey there friends! What memories do you want to curate for your family about your time in a particular place? It’s not unusual for me to say to a friend or family member “Remember when....?” or “Do you remember that time…?” But this week, I’ve found myself saying that quite a few times. And each time, that question has been because we were talking about shared experiences in a place. Not the place we are currently living in, but one that we shared in the past. I’ve realized this week the...
Hey there friends! Well, hello October. 🍂 I’m so ready to fully embrace all things autumn that I made some pumpkin butter for the first time over the weekend. It's so good on toast! Farewell horrible dry hot spell. Welcome rainy, cooler days. I’ve just started work on a couple of booklets for my dear Presbyterian church client in Tennessee, so I’ve haven’t had much time this week to rustle up family story-gathering ideas. What I have been thinking about, though, is how the houses and...
Hey there friends! Just a quick note this morning. 😀 I hope your week is going well. For me, I’m ecstatic that Hellaugtember in the Ozarks has finally run its course after tormenting us through most of August and the first few weeks of September. We are now enjoying some mornings in the high 50s and afternoons topping out nicely below 90 degrees. Now, let’s get to the business of gathering family stories. I have one last family story thread for you to pull. I have a treasured memory of one of...
