Hey there friends! Happy Halloween Eve. 💀 I’ve been thinking about trick or treating all week because we’re trying to coordinate when I get to see my 2 little grandboys in their costumes. If you have been with us here since late 2024, then you know that I’ve confessed to ya’ll before that when my own children were little that we didn’t participate in trick or treating. In fact, you can read about that in this old issue. It's packed with all sorts of Halloween fun, so if you have time take a look. But the truth now is that I am all in on trick or treating. I have delightful memories from my childhood and it's been fun to see photos of my grands in their first few years of wearing costumes and walking through their neighborhood. Today, I’m going to give you 5 story sparks for capturing your own childhood Halloween stories to share with your kids or grandkids. Read on below and please enjoy tomorrow’s spookiest holiday! 🎃 Happy almost weekend, P.S. Has anybody else already mostly wiped out the bag of candy you bought “for the trick or treaters?” Yep. We know that you only buy your favorites just in case…. BEHIND THE SCENES THIS WEEK When you’re ready to capture your childhood Halloween memories, try using these story sparks to get the memories flowing.

I’m happy about this because it means that there is more of a focus on the resources we need to gather the history and stories of our own families. Today...

It’s not unusual for me to say to a friend or family member “Remember when....?” or “Do you remember that time…?” But this week, I’ve found myself saying that quite a few times. And each time, that question has been because we were talking about shared experiences in a place. Not the place we are currently living in, but one that we shared in the past. I’ve realized this week the...
